The Yung family took over this Bordeaux Supérieur in 1980, already owners of Château Grimont in the Cadillac-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The property was named according to family tradition, whereby the eldest of each generation is named either Paul or Pierre, alternating each time. Château Tour Saint Paul would be a tribute to the eldest of the two brothers who today own the property.
Yet it has not all been plain sailing since taking over the vineyard. A substantial part of the vineyard was grubbed up in the 70s, and replanting, mainly with Merlot, was a lengthy and mammoth task. The winery pays testament to ancestral traditions and the harvest is vinified in the original 300-year old buildings that feature on the Château label.

Easy-drinking Bordeaux Supérieur wine
The wines at Château Tour Saint Paul display an attractive, intense red, terracotta-tinged appearance. On the nose, spicy notes enhance jammy, ripe fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine is supple on the attack, developing relatively powerful structure that will soften over time.
