Château Grimont occupies an important place in the district of Quinsac, the quintessential capital of Bordeaux Clairet wines. This magnificent 17th and 18th century Château has belonged to the Yung family since 1958. One of its previous owners was Eugène Sue, the famous author, who sought solace at Grimont looking for inspiration far from the whirl of Parisian society.
Halfway between red and rosé wine, Grimont Clairet is made using the “saignée” method. After a short maceration for 24-48 hours, the red wine tanks are «bled», whereby some of the juices are extracted and then vinified separately, for a more pronounced shade of pink. The result is a delicious, pale red, brilliantly bright wine, boasting wonderful aromatic intensity and sweet tannins.
Red Bordeaux, easy to get married, favoring the expression of fresh fruit, low in tannins .
South-east Bordeaux, in the district of Quinsac, located on the banks of the Garonne.
55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon.
