To the south of Bordeaux, near Cadillac, Château Garreau stands in all its finery, on a small farm built at the end of the 18th century, on a plot of clay-limestone soils bearing the same name. In 1980, Alain Thienot took over the estate, determined to create a delicious Bordeaux Supérieur wine, the fruit of a terroir blessed with exceptional natural conditions.
Set in a natural amphitheatre, the vineyard stretches over the most magnificent slopes in the region, where the natural drainage and aspect are ideal for the vines. A number of Garreau’s stunning clay-limestone plots are particularly suited to cultivating Merlot, where it reveals all its fresh, smooth and rounded character. A few months in the winery suffice to reveal lovely intense aromas, and deliver a harmonious Bordeaux Supérieur wine, which can be enjoyed in its early years.
Bordeaux red pleasure, well-rounded, sweet with a nice material with a velvety mouthfeel.
